Розглянуто особливості застосування концепції смарт-спеціалізації для забезпечення майбутнього сталого розвитку старих промислових вугледобувних регіонів, а також надання рекомендацій щодо забезпечення відповідності інституційного середовища таких регіонів України принципам та організаційним вимогам до реалізації цієї концепції. Вказано, що дослідження методологічно ґрунтується на теоретичних засадах еволюційної економіки, зокрема концепції залежності від траєкторії розвитку, блокування та ін. Зміни
